                               THE LOVE OF GOD

Nearly one thousand years ago these words were found written on the walls of an insane asylum. It is clear that the troubled mind who penned the words had moments of amazing clarity. Imagine for a moment the word picture he has painted for us. An ocean filled with ink, the sky made of parchment, every blade of grass a pen, and every person ever born writing the love of God….and yet all this could not contain the love of God! God’s love is so infinate that nothing can set peremeters around it. And all that love my friends, is for you. The Lord Jesus Christ loves you more than words can ever say.

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell

The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
